Behrouz from Iran

Dear America,

I live in Tehran/Iran. I want to establish "Federal Republic Of Iran". I want to educate people of the world how barbaric Islamic laws are. Iranians must wake up soon. Mullahs will start World War III by firing atomic bombs to Israel and U.S. bases in the Middle East. They have to be stopped either by Iranian oppositions or by U.S. Invasion. Since there will be no unity among Iranian oppositions, therefore we have no other choice and U.S. invasion is our only chance. If Mullahs start Nuclear War, millions of Iranians will die but in U.S. invasion only a few will die. Which one is better?

After the debacle in Iraq, I'm surprised that you would wish that kind of bloodshed upon your country. Why not organize the opposition and bring down the regime internally and avoid the whole foreign occupation part. Besides, at this point, the American people (not sure about the president and vice president) are not very eager to throw away more lives to "liberate" another Middle East country.

Do you really belive that he is an Iranian?..

    1. We are different from Iraqis. We have experienced Islamic laws in our country so we will not kill each other for religion. It is not U.S. fault that Iraqis are killing each other. If I were president Bush I will let Iraqis kill each other and I just watch them.

    2. Iranian Oppostions groups can not work as a team because Monarchists want to replace Mullahs with Monarchy and Communists want communism in Iran!!!

    3. U.S. does not need to throw away any lives to liberate Iran. Once a while, all Iranian governmental and army officials gather in Khamenei's (Leader) place. U.S. and Israel must hit only this place and kill everybody there. That is it. Iranian people will finish the job. This is the easiest way of getting rid of Mullahs. If U.S. does not want to do this, I am sure Israel is willing to do this job.

    4. How can I prove to you that I am an Iranian living in Iran!? Of course I want the best for my people. I think what I mentioned above would be best for my people and we will have less casualties.

    Behrouz,

I believe you're an Iranian citizen. I also believe there are many others in Iran who agree with you, although they may be afraid to voice their point of view. I can't imagine anyone, except the brainwashed or strict fundamentalists (basically the same thing) wanting to live under a theocracy. Most adults should be able to make the right choices for themselves without being told what and how to do it in every aspect of their lives. If it wasn't God's intention for people to use the brains He gave them and make decisions, then why did He give us a free will?

I'd like to believe that Iranians are capable of self government without creating a civil war. However, if your opposition parties can't unite to overthrow the current government, how are you going to unite to create a government?

Americans were very naive in thinking that the Iraqis would be glad to work together to develop a strong and prosperous nation. They seem to be stuck in the past, unwilling to leave their tribal and sect loyalties behind. Until they can collectively humble themselves to a new beginning (open to forgiveness, tolerance and compromise), their country is not going to move forward to all the benefits and prosperity that's available and just waiting for them to "grow up".

Although I hope Iranians have more wisdom in this regard, how do we know you wouldn't "thank" us for our help by trying to kill us, like so many Iraqis want to do?

Do you really believe that mullahs will start World War III by firing atomic bombs to Israel and U.S. bases in the Middle East? Are you mad? Do you know how many nuclear bomb US and Israel have? Mullahs aren't stupid. This never hapens...

U.S. invasion is your only chance? So what happens after invasion? I will easily say millions of Iranians will die because of war and the fights between mullahs supporters and others after war... Yes, you will not kill each other for religion. You will kill each other just for power... Also ethnicity. Millions of Azerian Turks and Kurds may use the invasion to gain freedom. US began to use Kurdish terrorists against Iran already... Believe me this will not be a happy ending...

Also i can't imagine what kind of people you are. I never want invasion for my country for any reason... This is just ridiculous...

    Answer to comment #4:
(I hope the site official put a number next to the comment so that we can refer to it easily)

With the U.N. and U.S. helps, We will have a referendum to choose our type of government (most likely "Federal Republic of Iran") and then we will have political parties and after that we will have a free election to choose our parliament members and our President.

These days, nothing is free. Nobody does anything for free for anybody. America changed the regimes in Afghanistan and Iraq for many reasons. The main reason was its own security. As president Bush said "America is in Iraq and Afghanistan because we don't have to face the terrorist back home like in 9/11". Now, Amercia for its own security must topple Mullahs in Iran.

To prove to you that Iranians love Americans and Presindet Bush, I should say that after 9/11 Iranians were the only nation in the region to light candles for the victims and showed their grief. Others were celebrating!!! You can ask CIA and they confirm Iranian people love Americans. Those people you see on TV burning U.S. flags are regime's dependants. They are in minority.

    Answer to comment #5:

You don't live in Iran that is why you don't feel the pain. Ahmadinejad keeps saying that Israel will be desroyed soon!!! Mullahs are preparing for war. I live in Iran and I am seeing it. They know U.S. have more atomic bombs but they know U.S. will not use them on our cities.

Mullahs supporters are in minority (less than 10%). They cannot do anything. We don't need to kill each other for power. With the U.N. and U.S. helps, we will have a free election.

If you talk to the leaders of our ethnic groups, they consider themselves Iranian 1st then their ethnic groups. U.S. is opposed to dividing Iran. They could divide Iraq but they didn't.

You don't want Invasion for your country, that is fine. What is your solution!? We, who live in Iran, can not take it anymore!!!

They can do sometihng more than you think. Like %15 Sunni did in Iraq... Losing power lets people do something...

Ahmadinejad keeps saying that Israel will be desroyed soon!!! Mullahs are preparing for war. I live in Iran and I am seeing it. They know U.S. have more atomic bombs but they know U.S. will not use them on our cities.
Israel and US keeps saying smilar things for Iran. Israel and US are preparing for war too. And you can't judge mullahs for preperation. The war will probably occure in Iran... Also US will use nuclear bomb for destroying your nuclear power. US is still the only nation that destroy cities with atomic bombs. So don't trust them so much...

If you talk to the leaders of our ethnic groups, they consider themselves Iranian 1st then their ethnic groups.
Yeah, they always talk like this but you know, they aren't Iranian. When government begin to lose power you will see the reality...

What is your solution!? We, who live in Iran, can not take it anymore!!!
It's your country, not mine. Be creative... You said that "they are less than 10% of population and they cannot do anything". Do something. Do not want an invasion for your country. It is the easist way...

Also don't get me wrong, i don't defend mullahs...

    Behrouz,

This is Anonymous from comment #4 again. I just read that "Iran has announced the launch of "Operation Cover-up" next week in attempt to control young men and women who have deviated from the country's Islamic dress codes and adopted "too Western" an appearance."

My heart goes out to you. I would hate to have someone telling me how I HAD to dress myself, like I'm brainless and can't be trusted to dress appropriately and use good taste in my attire. That one issue would be enough for me to say I "can not take it anymore", and I know that's not the only issue you're dealing with.

If the plan you describe to eliminate those in power would actually work, I'd support it. It appears to me that Ahmadinejad truly believes his purpose is to prepare the conditions for the Mahdi to arrive. My understanding is that means Israel will then be destroyed. There is a tradition that is often quoted throughout the Islamic world that speaks of the Mahdi’s military campaign against Israel. The tradition is both sickening and very sobering:
The Prophet said… The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him.

As foolish as it would be to detonate an atomic bomb in the region, someone with your president's mentality would do it, under the erroneous assumption that he was doing the will of God. With or without U.S. backing, I don't think Israel will allow that to happen.

However, whether Ahmadinejad bombs Israel, or Israel bombs Iran first to prevent being bombed, the Iranian people are going to suffer tremendously. The only reasonable way to deter mass destruction in the Middle East is to remove Ahmadinejad (also known as "I'm a nut job") from power. Although I have my differences with President Bush's policies, he honestly means what he says about establishing democracy in the Middle East. The best way would be for the Iranian people to overthrow the current government. Then, the U.N. and America would send plenty of aid to help the people establish a democracy. Can't the different factions in Iran unite to get rid of the immediate danger, regardless of their differing philosophies?

"Can't the different factions in Iran unite to get rid of the immediate danger, regardless of their differing philosophies?"

The answer is NO. They are stupid!!! We need somebody like Reza Shah or Kamal Ata Turk (Turkey) or Bush.

Bush? Why do you need Bush? Ahmadinejad is a kind of your Bush!

The level of debate is abysmally low. Behrouz might be Iranian, the country has its idiots too as all do, or he could be a good ole boy in Texas or Oregon, who's to tell. Truth is, the future for any country is in the hands of its people, and I would have thought the utter chaos of Iraq would have shown anyone, even Iranians of a right wing persuasion, that another power interfering to change the government is not a good idea. As for someone like the Shah, clearly this person has no idea about history, the Shah was a bastard in the pocket of the US and his vicious, autocratic actions led to the Islamic revolution. Of course rhetoric is thrown around on all sides, it's what politicians do to show they really do have testicles, but that doesn't mean you have to believe them - either about bombing Israel or about their testicles.
Islam needs a reformation and an enlightenment like Christianity, it's still stuck in the 9th century along with many of its followers.

"Islam needs a reformation and enlightenment like Christianity; it's still stuck in the 9th century along with many of its followers."

You can't be serious about this comment. Why, Christianity is as much in the dark as it was in the 9th century. It's a cult that has entrapped the soul of its sheepish and mindless followers.

In fact, Christianity has done little or nothing to advance the course of spiritual enlightenment and across the board social harmonization. Christians are more adept in hating, killing, destroying, coveting and forceful displacement and occupation of foreign territories.

Christians in truth are the greatest threat to world peace and the existence of the human race as we know it today.

Either God as Christians know it doesn't exist or Christians don't know the God that they should know.

Evidently Jesus didn't get the job done, or how else can such Christian immorality be explained? Until a new prophet with sufficient persuasive power appears on the scene, Christians should not claim superiority to other forms of cultist cultures.

Advancement of science and technology should not be confused with Christianity as a superior driving force. The world existed without Christianity and will exist after Christianity destroys it.
