Ottavio from Australia

Dear America,

A stated on my weblog, I believe America plays a critical role on the world stage. For all intensive purposes, current "World Order" is stable and predictable in-part due, to the economic, technological, military and diplomatic superpower we know as the The United States. Whether acknowledged or not it is in the world's interest that the U.S. continues to exact its present worldly economic, political, cultural and military influence. An influence that extends to leadership in scientific and technological research and the production of innovative technology based products and services. Our democratic way of life, our economies and our national security, are irrevocably tied to a secure world order - an order, to which the present day United States is at the heart, as the pre-eminent driver of internationalism. Compare this, to the global instability that existed in the first 20 years of the past century and its link to the two world wars that followed.

My blog, although new, shall hopefully serve as a platform of advocacy for the continuation of American dominance because as stated before me, America must remain strong.

Just briefly, I also wish to add that I am proud of my Federal Governments unwavering support for America's war on terrorism.

    Ottavio,

Your words are brief, to the point, and accurate. It seems that people of your (and my) age in Australia really do "get it" in regard to the war against terror. This is the nemesis of the current century, and ignoring it will not make it go away. As an American, I'd just as soon that America wasn't the "superpower" nation. It puts us in a position to make resounding decisions that we're not always the best equipped to make. Although we try to do our best, we screw up, and a lot of nations hate us. History will sort it all out, but in the meantime, I'd love to see other nations have more power and take a more leading role. Americans, including all of us who have never been to Australia, love Australians and would listen intently to what our Australian brothers have to say about the war against terror and how to fight it and win. Be confident and pushy.
