Mamduh from Egypt - I Support You, America
Dear America,
Some people misunderstood my last letter and thought I meant to attack America, and that was not the case.
In fact, I'm one of the few pro-US and pro-Israel people here, and I tend to support the US in its wars.
Because, I mean, without the US going to Iraq, those who are now complaining and attacking the US would still be attacking it anyway, but then it would have been for the reason that the US did NOT help them.
Iraq is now a democratic country, they have cellphones, satellite channels, newspapers, political parties, political debates, political differences, and even political fights. But would they have ever dreamed of any of that if it wasn't for America?
Same thing for Afghanistan. They wouldn't have even been able to dream about being a democracy, or having even if just a little bit of religious freedom, and being in contact with the world around them. Women would still be made to cover up from head to toe.
Some people in here like to treat America as if it's their mother or something (maybe because it's a super-power). They just like to keep complaining under all circumstances, and America is expected to always make them feel better.

Mamduh from Egypt - Good Goals, But Too Many Deaths?
Dear America,
You're a good country with good, kind people. And I believe it was good of you to go get us rid of the Islamic fundamentalist Taliban in Afghanistan, and of Saddam in Iraq... But, really, you should find a way for you to end the wars that started, and that don't seem to be approaching an end any time soon.
You happen to have a common enemy as some of us in the Middle East; that is religious fundamentalism. This is probably just out of our good luck to find a country like you to defend us against fundamentalist Islam. But, on the other hand, should so many people really be dying?
I oppose Taliban, Saddam, and all other dictatorships in the Middle East (including the dictatorship in Egypt). But, at the same time, I'm not happy with the death of so many people in Iraq and in Afghanistan...
I hope you find ways to end your current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, now that you've done a big part of your good goals there (got rid of Iraqi dictatorship, and Afghan fundamentalism).
